Hi, I’m Lydia, and this is my wellness blog. Disconcerted by the blog’s official name? Don’t be. I take cancer seriously- I have loved ones battling cancer, and I in no way seek to diminish or belittle the evil that is cancer.
However, this mantra “at least it’s not cancer” seems to have been repeated to me and by me over and over the last two years as I finally brought my health problems into the light and began talking about it openly with others.
It seems in this country, when everyone is suffering from something, we use cancer as the measure of severity. We lump our sufferings into two categories: cancer, and everything else.
If you have cancer or any other potential deadly disease, I still hope and assert that this blog will offer some encouragement, some humor, and some basic health tips to help you through your journey. But, you probably need to supplement with a community of others who battle what you battle, who truly understand your specific suffering.
This blog is really for the every day person who is sick and tired of being sick and tired and wants to begin, continue, or be cheered on in their journey of wellness. Wellness is a holistic approach to living- it is the decision to wake up every day and fight for your health using the tools we have available: food, herbs and supplements, exercise, spiritual pursuits, and a supportive community of loved ones.
I want this blog to encourage you, inform you, entertain you, and ultimately be a safe place to talk openly about your specific illness and struggle and get tips and information from others going through a similar challenge. Being sick sucks, and I need your help, just as much as I am so excited to help you!

epileptic here, and you know me. this is good.
